Description	On June 19, 1910, Miss Julia Hoerner launched this gas balloon with Captain John Berry from an area that had been designated as the Missouri Aero Club Grounds, just west of the Woman's National Daily Building . This photograph was taken just after the balloon lifted off. According to a newspaper story that appeared in "The Woman's National Daily" on June 21, 1910, Miss Hoerner had flown with Captain Berry before but on this flight she became the first St. Louis woman to pilot a gas balloon on a pleasure flight.
