This photograph was taken as the balloon headed west over Delmar Boulevard. According to the newspaper story that appeared with this photograph in "The Woman's National Daily" on June 21, 1910, they took off just before a storm and ascended to 1,500 feet. They landed 10 miles west after a harrowing flight.
