Description | In 1903, Edward Gardner Lewis hired architect Herbert C. Chivers to design the new headquarters for the Lewis Publishing Company. In this photograph taken about August of 1903, the foundation for the headquarters building, known more familiarly as the Woman's Magazine Building, is complete and work is in progress on the exterior rusticated stonework for the exterior walls of the first floor. Exterior walls for the Press Annex are complete. |
