Description | On August 29, 1903, David R. Francis, former governor of Missouri and president of the Louisiana Purchase Exposition, was the guest speaker and laid the cornerstone for the new Lewis Publishing Company headquarters on Delmar Boulevard in St. Louis County. In this photograph, friends and business associates of Edward Gardner Lewis, and employees of the publishing company are visiting and inspecting the construction underway for the new headquarters (left) and printing plant (right center). |
