Description | This drawing is an idealized nighttime view of Camp Lewis, probably drawn by Lewis Publishing Company artist George Blake. It was frequently used in promoting Camp Lewis. Camp Lewis was built on property in University Heights #1, and in this drawing the famous 80 inch search light on top of the Woman's Magazine Building is shown illuminating the Camp. Lights of the Louisiana Purchase Exposition appear in the distance. The layout of Camp Lewis appears reversed. The dining tent and other community facilities were actually on the north side, rather than on the south side as they appear here.
