Chivers' plans for the intended building were adapted for use as the publishing plant for Lewis' newspaper venture, "The Woman's National Daily." In this photograph, workmen are beginning installation of white Georgian marble which would cover the exterior, and the copper cornice is in place on the main part of the building.
