The press could print and fold 5,000 complete newspapers per minute. It stood 28 feet high and held 36 rolls of newsprint which weighed 1,500 pounds each. This photograph appeared the "The Woman's National Daily" on June 7, 1909, as part of a series called "Views of the Lewis Publishing Co.'s Great Plants in University City."
