Date.Digital | 2002-07-27 | Date.Original | c. 1910 | Description | In 1904, the Lewises built a 15-room Tudor style home in University Heights #1. Their Arts and Crafts living room featured prominent ceiling beams and some pieces of mission style furniture. The moose head and the bear skin rugs reflect Edward Gardner Lewis' interest in the west. The decorative pieces on the mantle may have been made at the Art Academy. | Source | Photograph, mounted on black photo album paper, 9.59" by 7.51 | Subject | University City (Mo.)--Pictorial Works | Subject | University Heights #1 Subdivision (University City, Mo.) | Subject.Keyword | Furniture, mission | Subject.Keyword | Arts and crafts movement | Title | Living Room in Lewis House - View 1 |
