On August 29, 1903, David R. Francis, former governor of Missouri and president of the Louisiana Purchase Exposition, laid the cornerstone for the new Lewis Publishing Company headquarters on Delmar Boulevard in St. Louis County. In this photograph Governor Francis is preparing to make his address to the friends, associates and employees gathered for the event. Standing to the left of him are Major H. L.
